World Water Day, 2017

22 March, 2017:  The students of CMR Institute of Management Studies came together on World Water Day to spread awareness on the most undervalued resource on the face of the earth ‘WATER’. The wastage, scarcity and pollution of water is an underrated problem.

A five kilometer ‘Walkathon’ was organised by the teachers and students of CMR Institute of Management Studies to spread awareness to the general public. The walkathon was flagged off from the college by our Chief Guest for the day Mr. Siddaih Gowda, Assistant Sub Inspector, K.R. Puram Traffic Police. Teachers and students chanted wise and thoughtful slogans about the need and importance of water like “Save Water, Secure the Future”, to urge the current generation to have consideration for its posterity. The walkathon ended in the college where the teachers and students joined hands to plant five saplings in order to initiate and inspire change to protect our precious natural resources. The saplings were planted by Prof. Suja Benett, Principal, Capt. Dr. Anandappa, Vice Principal, Prof. Sudhakar, HOD, Management and Commerce Department, Faculty and the student representatives from all the streams.

The event stimulated a great sense of responsibility among the students and faculty. It also proved to be an opportune time to initiate the dialogue on water among the budding citizens of tomorrow.
